Steve: hope you guys have a blast! Please share pics so those of us who go on one of the other drives can see....

I plan to join this run. As much as I would love to do a North Bay loop, I have to be back in Santa Cruz by lunch-time. For that same reason, I'll probably peel-off the mountain at Quimby. A great way to greet the New Year and an excuse to beg-off another inevitably boring New Year's Eve...

Looks like we are going to have a great turn out for the day ...

We will start making a roll list of people that are planning to attend ...

Steve ...

jesiv 12-12-2011 05:44 PM

Sure would be nice if it started at say 9:11 SmileWavy 8:00 on new years day is a little early

Any thoughts on changing the time to 9:11?

80-911SC 12-12-2011 05:51 PM

meeting up at 8am and heading out at 830 ... gets us out before much else is awake .. on this route it seems to be an appropriate time ... I know its early but ??? gets us around 11:30ish back out at Hwy 680 so there is still time for the rest of the days needs .. I have even turned around and taken the loop backwards to go back to Livermore and then head to Stockton ... Makes a long drive but its fun.

Steve

There is talk of adding a photo op at the dealership[ around the corner that would extend things a bit and have us leaving there about 9 ...

F.Y.I....expect a HUGE turnout. I've been emailing Porsche Bay Area friends & posting in many places about NYD 2012 East Bay, and it's just the beginnning....be prepared for an AWESOME day! Help spread the word folks.

Newlin4141 12-13-2011 10:29 AM

If I can install the new 3.2L motor in my 930, make sure the breaks stop the car, the clutch shifts it, and at the gears all work... I'M IN, big time.

Gonna be cutting it close, but the car should be ready in time. Though, it'll have a "Turbo" badge on it so I'll be "that guy". Maybe I can get it to come off without damaging it.

Any lunch suggestions at the end of the drive around the Sunol area?
Maybe some people will be hungry for a bite to eat.

f.y.i....there will be a caravan of 3-4 more Porsches with me, and you can always count on more to show up at the last minute ...as that is always the case.

Plus....there is about 12 signed up on the Facebook event page and 7 maybe's.
72 haven't responded yet, as everyone waits till the last minute to decide!

Depending on how many turn up, we'll have to think of a plan about stopping at the top of mount Hamilton. I'm thinking there's not much room for more than 20 cars up there!

Good point, hopefully no one else will be there on NYD. Or who gets there first gets parking!

Or just have to double park....:D
