1975 porsche silver anniversary question

so I sold the porsche to a gentleman. but the deal did not work out. so I am doing a little more research. I did'nt want to but ya'll with another question about this car. but if I buy that birth certificate for my 911 would it tell me if my car is a silver anniversary edition? I had my car on craiglist for 4 hours and I had more emails then I could return. so I took it off. and guy showed up today and looked at it. and noticed the plaque was missing off the dash. could those be reproduced? sorry so many questions. but a thanks to you guys

Maybe, if you researched the Vin through the "Red Book", that would shed some light??

Mine is a silver anniv, the doors are covered with a blue plaid, the seats were at one time if the same material, the back ones still are. I did not get the Porsche cert of authenticity for it yet so I cannot say if will state what it is or not

theres a silver anniversary edition targa on ebay right now. seats are rough. but they look like mine. as discussed earlier this has a speaker wedge in the rear area above the seats. I don't know if that was indicitive of this being a silver anniversary car or not

You will surely regret selling your 911. By sheer luck, fate has handed you a second chance. I really love that interior BTW.

maybe fate has. but I have 3 classics and room enough for 2
my camaro is safe. and the 39 chevy street rod was up for debate. so much cheaper to work on a chevy engine but I do love this porsche. damn hard decision. but I was left with no choice a winning bidder on ebay said oops then said he meant to bid 10,250 it was a game to him. cost me money

Dude, you're selling it? You've got to be kidding. Sell that ZZ Top truck instead...

Anyway, what I have learned with my '75 is this:

1) Mine has all the Silver Anniversary bits but Porsche says it isn't. Interior, sway bars, paint, fabric, etc.
2) Not all dealers gave people their Anniversary plaques
3) Not all people MOUNTED the plaque on the dash
4) Some people left the plaque in the glove compartment with the manuals
5) Some people made the plaque into a paperweight
6) Cars like mine have all the specs of the Anniversary, but all the trim stuff could be ordered and the car not be an Anniversary
7) The COA is a shot in the dark like an English translation of a Hermann Hesse book

Your car is sweet, Anniversary or not, it should sell for about the same. I am interested to see what the eBay car will get.

What did you put your car on the List for?

actually was asking 12.5 for it. guy shows up today drove for 200 miles roughly with trailer. and said he didn't want it. it had a little body damage from the 80s that was fixed. and it was repainted. he told me it was worth more like 15 and to hold out. I had it on craigslist for like 4 hours and got so many calls and emails. it scared me. I deleted it. I am hoping I could get at least 13 out of it

Very nice interior. Any exterior shots? You should post it here in the for sale area, or on bring a trailer.com. I would try to confirm if it is actually a silver anniversary edition prior to selling. With the golden anniversary next year, you should get good money for it. I also vote that you keep it though.

Yes I did. I waited for awhile, it got lost, then they sent me another one. It has an engine number on it that is not even a Porsche engine number, and the number on my engine matches with early '75 production. It does not mention the option code for the Silver Anniversary Edition, so I guess it's not, but just looks just like one - interior and all.

It seems the midyear market it much crazier this year than one year ago. I suspect if you got that many call and emails that you should shoot high - rather than lower.

249 US targas with option code m426 and within that code there a various options.but one thing that they all had was a special diamond silver metallic paint.code 936 .so check you paint code.. that may give you an indication if it is a SA or not.
