1975 911S standard seat identification

I've got a '75 911S with the regular (non-sport) seats. I'm getting ready to buy a set of seat covers for it, but I want to make sure the seats are the 74-76 version and not the later style. Is there a way to tell for sure? (The kits are different for 74-76, then '77 and later).

Thanks,
DT

I am a little confused by your question but I think you are asking will 77 fit 74-76 and vice versa? The 74-76 and 77 high back seat is the same and interchangeable as well as later years. The seat headrest changed slightly around 1987? The difference in the seats you describe is in style of the cover. The 74-76 head rest does not have pleats sewn into the head rest. The 77 and SC models have the pleats. I think in 84 with the change to the Carrera the pleats went away again. If my years are off someone please correct me. Other than that the standard seat is the same.

74-76

77- SC style

Thanks for the info and pictures.

I'm trying to figure out if my seats are '74-76 seats, or if they are '77 and later seats. Since I'm about to buy seat covers that are non-returnable, I want to make sure I order the right ones.

I believe there may be some subtle differences in the seats, as there is no padding kit available for '74-76 seats, but there is one for '77 and later.

I might be wrong, but I think that at some point seat backs became taller ?

Are you trying to stay with an original look?

Is this any help?
