17 & 18 inch Fuchs from OTTO FUCHS KG

17 & 18 inch Fuchs from OTTO FUCHS KG starting Fall of 2012.

Here's the link...

OTTO FUCHS KG

Use google translate to get English version.

Looks like they started with 19" and 20" a few yrs ago. Now doing 17s and 18s. The 17s would be a nice fit for impact bumper P-Cars!

Sorry if this has been posted before. I just received the newsletter from OTTO FUCHS this AM.

$3000 is actually not too bad a price for a set of real, NEW, forged Fuchs wheels, in sizes that we would want (7s and 9s). Heck, go onto eBay and search "fuchs 16" and see what eye-popping numbers come out.

Here's the scoop (auf Deutsch):

Die Startgrößen ab Herbst 2012: (Spring 2012)

17"-Fuchsfelgen (17" Fuchs forged)

(Vorder = front, Hinter = rear. Weights and prices converted for your pleasure.)
Vorderachse: 7J x 17, ET55
/ 7,4 kg (16.3lbs) / € 529,-*(US$700)
Hinterachse: 8J x 17, ET52 / 7,7 kg (16.9lbs) / € 559,-*(US$740)
9J x 17, ET55 / 7,95 kg (17.5lbs) / € 589,-*(US$779)

Actually, "Herbst 2012" means Fall of 2012 (not Spring). I wonder how much the shipping from Germany would be.

It's good news, but I wish they would make them in 911 specific offsets.

being German, you can probably trust the date, unlike what has been seen with other larger diameter fuchs knock-offs....

Ship to USA for the 18s and 20s are ~ €165. I assume that is per wheel.

[hangs head in translation shame]

"Fruehling" (umlaut u is the proper way to write it) is Spring.

I love that they're doing it. But the modern offset issues make them look, well, a little bit like those old plastic wheel covers that looked like Fuchs that you'd see on VW Bugs and stuff.

Not the same, really. Although I can't see that there's a way around it for the newer cars.

But are they going to offer 17s and 18s that would bolt onto the pre-1990 cars?
