Vin decoding help

Looking at project rite now need help decoding vin 9110120600 and engine 6105544

70, 911T (Karmann). The red book doesn't mention engine numbers but looks period specific. Do you have an engine type?

Joe Bob ‘nailed it’.

9110120600 decodes as:
911 = Type 911 group.
0 = Model year 1970.
1 = Engine type 911T.
2 = Body version Karmann coupe.
0600 = Sequential number.
The range of these VIN were from 9110120001 to 9110121934. [Paternie] or to 9110124126 [Barth].

6105544 decodes as:
6 = Engine designation, 6-cylinder unit.
1 = Engine type 911T.
0 = Model year 1970.
5 = Type 911/07, USA version.
544 = Sequential number.
The numbers for this series are from 6105001 to 6107999 and 6108501 to 6109955.
Barth reports engines 6103501 to 6104547 for this Karmann 911T VIN series.
(The series 6108001 to 6108374 were type 911/08 USA Sportomatic and 6108375 to 6108499 apparently unassigned.)

There was the RoW engine version 911T (911/03) and the 911T USA (911/07).
For each, there were Sportomatic transmission versions 911/06 (RoW) and 911/08 (USA).

Please post some images.

Best,
Grady

Paternie's number is probably only up to end of Dec 1969.
