First of all thanks to those who helped me get my '73 911T started after 1 1/2 years on blocks. Runs like a champ!
Now, my tires are worn and I need to replace them and have the front end aligned as the passenger side tire is about 2 degrees or more to the right with drivers side straight ahead!! I cannot find the OEM tire for a '73 anywhere and what is on it is a 205 50 15 which looks too low on the chassis. I'm not to worried about brand, just the recommended size. I have 15" cookie cutter wheels. Thanks in advance! Tom |

I'm thinking that 205/60-15 would be closest to matching the "look" and diameter. I think that just under 25" diameter is what OEM tires were. They should fit on Cookies whether they are 15x6 or 15x7. There are a lot of tires available in that size.

I'm planning on 205/60's for my '74 and will adjust the ride height accordingly. It has 205/50's on it now, and I agree, they don't look good.
Probably going with the Goodyear's - all season, as I live in the Pacific Northwest and we do get a little rain....

Finding a V rated tire in 205-60-15 locally was almost impossible - of course we still use wooden spoked wagon wheels mostly here in Montana!
I did find a BF Goodrich G-Force Sport Summer tire on On-Line Tires for less than $93 each shipped and will have to find someone to mount and balance them. It's a good looking tire, rather aggressive tread and an ultra high performance type. Next I'll have the local Porsche mechanic align the front end and make any repairs that might be necessary. Tom |
