Cabin heat in Targa 1987
I am experiencing alot of heat in the 911 Targa cabin whilst driving with the top on. Is it normal as I have been told this is because the engine heat circulates through the car?

You don't mention how long you've owned the car or if you are familiar with the heating system. The heat can be stuck in the 'on' position. While driving, feel up under the dash for heat in the on/off positions.

I´ve an 87 Targa and depending on the weather conditions air circulation can be a slight problem. That said if you are experiencining a lot of heat I reckon your heating is somehow stuck at the on position. Yes they can be warm in comparison to driving with the top off but not so much where I would normally suspect a problem. Is the dial between the seats at the zero position and if so do you hear any nosie from the footwell blowers ?

I had the same problem and fixed it by jacking up the car, finding the flapper boxes, and dislodging the one that was stuck in the position that was allowing heat into the cabin.
It made a huge difference - see below http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/397037-heater-flapper-box.html

haha! Reminds me of pranks I use to play on people. Id dosconnect the cable and open heater vents on my dads bug. i also picked up my cousin at the airport once, it was hot as hell, and I turned on the seat heaters. He was burning up on the 405 in traffic, couldnt stop laughing.
