You and your buddy........
Quote:
Gary, Let me know when you decide to do the this project. There is really nothing novel about the contraption. Just need common sense and some engineering background regarding safety concern because I work solo all the time. A few lumber from HD and a battery operated winch from HF were what I have been using. I'll be doing another engine rebuild this fall/winter season in my basement and document the operation with pictures or video to demonstrate to other members interested in doing similar activity that even an elderly senior citizen with a bad and knee has fun doing it again and again. I wish I could assemble my wooden contraptions and winch/hoist for the demo today. But I'm getting ready for a trip to Australia on Monday and have an engine in the garage waiting to be finished by this weekend. You are welcome to stop by anytime. So you and I could take a ride up or down to my basement/cellar. Well this sounds like a chair lift for the disabled people!!!! Tony |

This has never been more than a 2-person job for me... guess this completely depends on age and physical condition.

Just came across this post. That's Big John. One helluva man. He's with Adam down South right now pulling three 356s out of an old tow lot. Big John is definitely strong, but the way he stays that way is by thinking like an Egyptian. He knows all the leverage tricks to save his back (this photo is no indication, I know). -- Matt

Holy Sheet. That guy is strong.
For me, it is one person, but I have an engine crane. I am too old and my back is too valuable.

Or just do the build in the living room... I bet it is easier to take the furniture downstairs...

Be careful with whatever you decide to do. You are going to have a unbalanced load not matter how many people you use.
Sorry to say, sounds like an accident waiting to happen. Good Luck |
