What is that Up There under the Driver's Side Front Fender?

78 SC. I know the big piece is the windshield washer, so I can easily relocate that stuff. But it looks like there's something else up in there, too. Can I remove or relocate it? What is it? I am working on a second oil cooler over for that side.

Receiver/Dryer

If your car has or had air conditioning, it is the receiver dryer canister (line going into and out of a can shaped object).

If your a/c was removed incompletely, this part could still be there.

I don't know alot about the early cars, but I know the late 80's cars have an evaporative system for ducting fuel vapor which has components in that area, as well as in the rear passenger side fender.

Scot,
The other smaller tank is an expansion tank for fumes from the gas tank. The line eventually makes it's way back to the charcoal cannister in the back. I removed mine and just looped the line back to close the system. I tried to search for a better solution but came up empty.

Right there where the windshield wiper tank was.
