Seems most people are getting upset and are disbelievers. I really hope this pans out, especially so you can say "I told you so" even though you have admitted you have NO IDEA of condition etc.

Yes it's a hard to believe, but I give all benefit of doubt to you.

I'm with Shawn -

You just get out there and score a couple of cool free 911's for the team pjv.

That was "914vpr-etr" first ever post you'll notice.

I'm with jasper

A guy has a common interest with some folks, he shares what he hopes is good fortune with the greater group. The other party of an advanced age is going to make a trip down to a garage in a large city to give a gift that was special to her old man......on comes the naysayers....F$%&' em. The first half dozen of my Porsches were all less than $1200, one '60 convertible was $300. I kept photos and I may even have canceled checks. Opportunity knocks on our doors but will not beat it down, it takes a little effort and patience. I'll wait and I hope our friend gets what he has waited for. ....I'm trying to remember who said it would be easy.....no one.

A joke: The Pessimist and the Optimist both step in **** going out the back door , the pessimist says " it happens all the time and every time".....the optimist says "wow, there must be a pony around here".

Wink Free 911s? man, oh, man...

I still hope that this works out for you. But just who is this tow truck driver? Even though he is into GTOs, why wouldn't he keep/sell the 911s for himself? I love the sound/feel of early 911s but if someone offered me an early S AND two 917s or T70-Mk III Lolas, I'd sure try to find some extra storage/parking spaces... but then, I guess I'd try to justify being greedy and REALLY HAPPY....

The tow driver (AL) works for the towing company that I use for my repair shop. He`s a good guy and knows of my passion for P-Cars . He often jokes about my cars calling them VW`s or foreign crap. He thinks a car is worthless unless its a muslecar. But its all in fun and games. He offered me the cars because he has no interest in them and I am the only guy he knows that cares or knows anything about porsches(old p-cars are very scarce on long island). He was at the shop today and told me that the woman asked him to come the weekend after next week on sunday morning. She said she was sorry about last sunday and will definetely be there this time. I wish I didnt have to wait but who am I to complain. Hopefully this post dies down and hides in the archives until then so I can simply post the outcome without all the wothless postings. This tread did draw some attention though. It may have my "how old are the pelicanheads" thread beat. If I get the cars then it might be a record.

Kurt Williams

I think I will bump that "how old" thread to see if it sparks up again with all the newer members.

This thing is so big it's even known on the 914 board! I just spent 20 minutes reading these posts with no CARS! Hmmmmmm, I told the ole guy I was only interested in the 914 back in the field, maybe I should reconsider that old BMW thing too. Yeah I know, go ahead and flame me for being a teener.

Kurt,

I will gladly take a look if you are not interested in another restoring project. Will you get a glance next Sunday?
