Do you own a 74,75,76,77 US or Euro Carrera?
If you would like to send me your e-mail address, I am trying to start an owners group. I would like to discuss technical upgrades and perhaps put on a special interest group event at the '03 Parade in Tampa.
E-mail me and I will add you to the list. Thanks, Mark

Mark,
My Dad has a 74 Euro Carrera, and would like to be involved, though he's never on the Pelican BBS. His email address is: ****************** Thanks! **Sorry -- we're just getting too much spam to include our email address in threads. If you want to contact me, please reply to this post or PM me.**

We'll this is a start. There is a guy in my PCA section that owns two Carreras. He is selling them or maybe not. Anyway, he says he has a list of about 200-300 Carreras. I have asked him for the list. I have offered to help update the list. I don't know where that will end up.
I have been collecting comps on my car (74 Targa) and have about 12 cars that have been for sell in the last two years. I will send out an e-mail to each of you in the near future. Try to spread the word and get more e-mail addresses. US and Euro Carreras, that is if you Euro guys will put up with the "underpowered, don't deserve the Carrera name" See this months "Porsche 911 World". I hope to be in touch. See Ya, Mark

Hey Mark,
Remember 90% driver, 10% car. I happen to have and original Car and Driver from February 1974 the headline? "Testing the 2.7-liter Porsches 911-911s-Carrera...with some startling comments from NASCAR champion Bobby Allison" There is a green w/black Carrera script car on the cover. If there is an interest I'll try to get an electronic copy made of the article and post it under a separate topic. You interested?

Jeff, If you can scan it and post it, that would be great. Warren, (earlySman), has scanned and posted a few old tests, but not that one. That must be the one where B. Allison calls 911s "$12,000 Corvairs", or something like that. He liked cars that shared their engines with garbage trucks, what an idiot.

Mark,
Why don't I publish a way for readers of 9 Magazine who own a 74/75 Carrera to contact you in the next issue? Since we are restoring a US 74 Carrera Targa in the magazine, I will include the information in this department. Send me what you want published, and it will be done. That would be awesome. I will e-mail you the text. Who owns the 74 you guys are restoring? Will it be a series of articles or just in one magazine? Nothing like when a plan comes together. See Ya, Mark

I happen to have the issue as well. At the end of the day of the three US 911's the best time went to the basic 911. Ironically, this was his overall first choice, although the article goes on to say that he sold his 911 because of the very light steering, etc. Made me a little happier with just my basic '74 911! I guess I'll join when its time to upgrade my engine to RS specs! Rock on guys! Ryan

I'm thinking of putting SC flares on my '74, and have been a big fan of the '74-75 Carreras since childhood. I'd love to see any technical stuff and photos on the '74-'75 series.
So can I join?
