Just got back from an air-cooled rally in SW VA--logged more than 850 miles over 4 days. Wonderful time--some amazing 911s, great people, and exciting backroads!

Saw lots on IG about the Ruckus, looked like an excellent time!

Is the steel fan-belt hub zinc plated and yellow chromated? If so did you separate the hub from the fan?

Jae Lee / Mirage International sent the fan & housing out to be refinished, so I am not sure about the details, including color. I do believe it's Cerakote. Also, my understanding is that the unit was completely disassembled during the process.

While I’m waiting for my RHD ITB setup to ship, I organized the garage, broke down the rest of my CIS parts, and installed a catch can and a new driver’s seatbelt in the 911, nothing too exciting (yet)

Removed fan and housing currently getting ceramic coated. Should be back on middle of this week. Added a new cis air box cover, adding clewett wires, doing an ignition update.

Crawled under and replaced my passenger side CV axle assembly. Took an hour to get the car on jacks and the CV bolts loose. Cordless impact made the axle nut a non-issue, and had the new assembly hand tight back together before dinner. Watched the news and plopped back under to torque the bolts, the axle nut, and shock bolt. Slid under and checked the torque on the other CV axle while I was in there. Really glad I have tranny bushings arriving Tuesday, got an up close look at mine and they are shot. I suspect changing those and dropping in WEVO engine mounts will make a noticeable improvement on shifting. I noticed that my heater flappers are fairly roached out, and the valves are rotted - plan to get those on order and will also replace those hoses.

I was dreading this, but with the various posts, this went much smoother than I expected. On a very positive note, after cleaning the bottom of the engine a couple of weeks back and doing an oil change - I added an oil tank drain valve. The bottom of the car is bone dry, so making progress. End of summer I will do another oil change, replace my oil return tubes and also replace the tranny fluid.

And since the lawn is already mowed...

Mounted this badge, not 100% certain. Brushed the finish. Then sprayed out some H4 trim rings - appears to be a decent color match. This will get me by until I bite the bullet and do a respray on the car.

Got Rosie on the road again after 7 months of winter hibernation and engine out fixes.

Getting the shifter linkage adjusted was a bear. Getting my brain to think in mirror image was taxing for my old man brain.

Took the slop out of the ITB throttle linkage created a fast idle. A few adjustments and rebalancing each ITB and she is fairly close. Fine tuning is touchy.

All good. Feels so nice to be driving Rosie again.
