Replaced my luggage compartment trim with polypropylene material. This is the stuff the VW guys use on door card panel rather than particle board. The front side has a leather texture!

continued to revert to stock. replaced the stock air box and cruise control module.

in the process found my little vac leak. a small vac hose had come off the oil tank vent module.

next put back the HVAC blower.

almost there.

Engine now installed but it was too dark to take pictures...
A big thank to Jim (DRACO50) for coming all the way over, with specialized tools and knowledge.
In the process we found that my ATV jack would not stay up, and fortunately Jim brought his... just in case!
Note/tip 1: Do not install the AC compressor before installing the engine; it simply will not clear the rear/right gusset.
Note/tip 2: If you installed a hi-torque starter you will find it very difficult to reach the nut that holds the thick positive black cable and the red positive cable, all located on the right side of the transmission. Jim discovered that it is much easier to reach over the transmission body (left side of the transmission).
More work to complete
Note/tip 3: Be sure your injection wire/connector in the front of the engine does not get stuck behind the firewall, or you will face a partial drop to resolve this. DAMHIK
Note/tip 4: do not install the heater blower intake piece until AFTER you connect the CHT and both reference sensors
Note/tip 5: Have Jim's number on speed-dial!
Yup, this was my first drop and re-install so I made notes of my mistakes...

Kanuck, very nice look! I like it!

I blasted my tail light housings and found some di-electric wasting on one - anyone know good ways to fix this? I've got Spoke setting me up with full front and rear LEDs.

Before

After

Nothing compared to what most of you get up to - I drained my transmission fluid and refilled with Swepco 201. Looking forward to seeing what it does my my 915 feel.

I had a shop in Toronto do a custom job out of vinyl. I wanted a perfect match to my center stripes, so I did not really have the option of purchasing a prefab set.

Cheers! They are period Hella 4004GT mirrors. Usually you see them mounted on the wing/fender tops of 240Z Datsuns and some the Kamei racing VW Golfs. You can get them in chrome too.
