GP White + Ducktail but otherwise stock - any pics?

Very specific pic request... anyone have a GP White car (pref impact bumper) with a ducktail but otherwise stock - no graphics, no color matched wheels etc?

Thanks

Here is a photo of a 74 Carrera in white with no side graphics. Hope this helps.

Perfect thanks!

Is anyone who posted the owner of one of those cars?

Well in that case, compliments on the car.

How was the install? I'm presuming you swapped the latch, bump stops etc from and old deck lid or did you buy new ones? Can you share an all-in price on what it took to get that duck installed and painted?

Yes, I swapped the hardware from the old lid to the duck. It was reasonably easy but there were some aspects that were a pain.

1. The ducktail didn't easily accommodate the stock engine grill or the A/C condenser. I needed to use different bolts to fasten the grill and I haven't yet refitted the L-bracket that partially supports the condenser from beneath. Works OK without it but needs a bit of custom fabrication to install. Same with the engine compartment light.

2. The stock hood struts were too strong for the duck and tended to twist it out of shape when mounted. I ditched the struts and bought a very elegant carbon fibre strut rod from Seine to solve this.

3. Fit of fibreglass parts is always chancy and the end result depends on the initial quality of the part and the amount of $$$ or time you want to spend on fabrication and fitting. I was reasonably lucky but I am also tolerant of some imprecision in the fit.

4. Aside from the nature of fibreglass, fitting any kind of new decklid can be an enormous pain. Shimming hinge bolts was just the beginning... during the course of fitment I locked myself out of the engine bay several times (i.e. the remote release was inoperative) and this was... inconvenient, to say the least

If I recall correctly the cost of the ducklid all in (the part, shipping, paint) was around $1K. I did the final fitting myself so that was free at least - but if you have someone else do it this could be several hours. All worth it, I love the look!

Cheers
