altinatoe
I have a 1980 911 and am removing the altinator and can not get the fan housing off of the altinator. Do it unscrew off the shaft are is a slip fit. If its a slip fit what kind of puller does it take to get it off.

Gravity.
Place a bundle of rags on the floor to catch the alternator. Hold the fan housing level to the ground, more level the better and just lift up and down quickly. Be patient and it will drop out after removal of the 3 out of 6 nuts on the back (you had to remove 3 from the air diverter). You can also place two blocks of wood covered by rags with space in between to catch the alternator. Gently drop the housing on the padded blocks, make sure it drops straight.
