Speed Switch Repair

Having just replaced my failed speed switch, I think I'll follow Warren's advice and reinforce my refub unit. What has been the material of choice? Hot melt glue? Shoe Goo?

I used some clear RTV silicone and then sprayed a little bit of conformal coating (the kind used for electronic circuit boards) over both sides of the board to completely keep moisture out. It should last forever.

You may be able to find conformal coating at good electronics stores (the kind that sell transistors, not VCRs) or mail order. MG chemicals makes the kind I used, and I bought it at Fry's Electronics here in San Diego.
