Did Gary Fairbanks retire?

Last time I spoke with him was about 3 months ago, he laughed that there is a rumor that he is retiring. He says he is not. He is tough to get in touch with. Keep calling

I was at his place about a year ago and he said that rumor has been going on for years. He has no idea how the rumor about his retirement started. His knowledge of transmissions is amazing.

Saw him at the Hershey swap a couple of weeks ago.. pushing his dolly looking tranny spares.

I guess I ought to contact him to rebuild my 915. I had it rebuilt by Porsche a few years back when I "discovered" that the PO had done a rebuild and forgotten one shim. Ended up hand-grenading the transmission and required a complete rebuild.

Porsche did OK, but the 7:31 R/P I put in whines a lot and I wanted some expert - aka Gary - to rebuild it and make it excellent.

Anyone knows roughly what he charges for a complete overhaul/rebuild/refresh? I have to ship the wretched thing to him from Canada as well....
