Singer Replica on Ebay

Pretty much a shameless copy of the first singer on a C4 chassis:

Porsche : 911 Carrera RSR in Porsche | eBay Motors

$70k to start.

It's hard to call anything a Singer replica....I mean Singer didn't exactly create the whole backdate concept, most of what they've done has been done by somebody already...probably by somebody here! They are the first to offer it in a comprehensive for sale to the public package, and they nailed lots of details, but all of these rodded 911s borrow from each other...
(trust me, they got a lot right. They are NICE cars. I'd throw my 911 out of the garage in exchange for a Singer, no doubt! Maybe it's like Apples iPhone. Really, you could do most of what the iPhone did before it was introduced on other phones, but they put it all into an easy to use cohesive package.)

Nice looking anyway, except for the ridiculously large wheels.

I don't see where they're claiming to be a Singer replica?

That car is beautiful!

Someone on TCL posted a very similar car in white with FL plates parked in an NYC garage. Same weird exhaust, mirrors, bumpers, rear spoiler, rocker decal, etc.

those do look hideous, cartoonish. ruins the car's perfect proportions.

Those seats are GTS Classics' Monte Carlo model with grommets added to them.

To me the rockers look off on both cars? It says the wheels are 17" I guess its the big petals, also the late model offset on the 964s makes them a bit off. But I have seen other 964 wide bodies with 17" fuchs that looked OK.

I'm not implying that the singer was the first backdate...... They copied lots of specific details on the first orange singer. Take a second look at the front valance/spoiler.

Thought it would fuel some interesting commentary.

They aren't ADMITTING it.... but many of the details are obviously specifically ripped from the singer. They could call it the MP3 maybe? Of wait Mazda beat them to it.

And yes it is beautiful, although there is something wrong with the proportions of the rocker panels to the rest of the car. I like the interior.

I think the car is great - might need some tweaking here or there. But overall it is very good. I wouldn't do it as a C4 though - I think the C2 may be a better platform to deal with.

People that are always critical should try and do it themselves. This is my next hod rod as soon as I finish with the 930.

Until you get your hands dirty - you have no idea how much work these kind of cars take. I may not like some things about it - but I appreciate the work that went into it.

Overall - thumbs up on this interpretation

yes. it's clearly not a longhood originally. And even the mats are the same weird pattern as the ebay car.
To see two clones does make one think some one else has decided to go into the restomodding G50 cars into longhoods as a production line type of affair.

I also recently saw a very nice set of similar seats made by Michael @ VintageSeats.com

The car is pretty well done IMO. Of course there are a few details that aren't quite my taste. For one, the steering wheel is all kinds of ugly in this particular car.

It's a backdate.

Not anything new. There's probably 1000 backdate projects going on this site.

If anything Singer copied members on this board
