Anyone who can find me a case of Cascade on the east coast would achieve saint status in our family for ever.

How about a having Cascade, VB, XXXX and other fine Aussie beers delivered to your door?

I was ok with $10 Us for a six pack of VB cans (would prefer bottles though) - then I got to the $75 shipping charge for 10 day air

I like it - but not that much. Thought it would be fun to share with my friends who have never been down under.

Is no one going to defend the honor of American brewries? If you haven't sat trackside at Road America and downed a couple of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin's finest (Leinenkugels - just regular Leiney's, not the red, the wheat and all that crap), you simply have not lived. -- Curt

PS: the best thing about this forum is that it is self-policed. Sure, the obligatory as-sman type poster shows up occasionally and has their 15 minutes of fame, but then they just fade away, never to be heard from again. It's a beautiful thing

Just for the fyi, I don't drink..

If I have pissed anyone off, I apologize. What does get me is that beer seems to be a subject of diversion.

Read the lines, not the alcohol content of your beer. I know I have awoken some sleeping giants, and I would like to put them to rest.

I am truly sorry for offending anyone, seriously.....

I have respect for the many bits of guidance I ahve received here in the forum.

One thing that is purely uncalled for is the countless attacks of a violent nature, these are words for lawyers and the like.

As they say, "sticks and stones, may break my bones, but my lawyer will drain your bank account"

Just made that one up.......

Live hard, die young, drive a Porsche......

America, God love it, makes some of the best beers in the world. Just ask Michael Jackson and, I don't mean the singer. How's that for sticking up for old faithfull.
Though fosters is one of my favorite beers along with spaten.
Nothing better than a hefe weiss on a hot day or a stout in the we hours of the morn.
I'm off work now and on my way to the pub.
Cheers all and have a good weekend. Can't wait to drive my mfi in the morn.

Im wondering if this thread is all a hoax.....

first off Belgian Beers rock. Those Trappists had lots of time to get it right.

Secondly a guy decides to give some negative feedback!!!! Read it and perhaps learn? Are there some cliquish factions on the BBS.... of course there are!!

There are some incredibly informative posters, and those who are vacuums for information.

Then there are those who give advice from hear-say and inexperience..

The guy complaining about the advice given? maybe after all the advice he read here, he found he didnt have to reinvent a mouse-trap.

A few days ago I offered an opinion to a guy who tossed his fan belt... I mentioned something about the "glass half full guys"

I got numerous emails telling me what I didnt know

Did you ever wonder how one of those wonderful BMW boxer motorcycles could possibly exist ? I had one and it doesnt have a cooling fan and it could sit stationary idling for hours.

Gosh how does it do it?

I just think alot of negative things were told to that guy who threw his belt.........

only a few said to just see how the cards lay

This proves to me that my philosophy was correct in nature.

As opposed to viewing it as half empty - yes I saw that as a positive encouragement Tim, as did Wayne in his "take heart" comment in that thread.
Now, if we're lookin' at a glass of Melbourne Bitter as half full - it's a negative view lookin' at what hasn't yet quenched ya thirst, but a half empty one is lookin' at the next full one(s) - with a full head, just two big gulps away.
Now that the cards have revealed themselves.....for Oliver, the glass WAS half full....Phew!
Vindicated Tim
So c'mon! Its your shout, now!

Waaaaaaah - he is still baiting.

"Originality goes a long way" - I want to not reply and end the arguing... but can't stop myself...

Yes I can... phew. I'm happy, s-man is (I hope, despite the vigorous defence of the BBS honour at his expense) happy 'cause his car is running well.

I don't drink either, but I am sure NZ beer is better than Aussie beer (beer quality is an inverse relationship to winning the rugby and ratio of Commonwealth Games medals).
