MotorMeister is finally closing down, better claim your car or engine!

By all indications given in this discussion, MotorMeister is FINALLY going out of business. They were/are selling customer's cars with lien sale titles as seen on Craigslist and in this current ebay auction:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/151160997390

This is in addition to the cars and engines seen held hostage at the 1:10 mark of this 2010 video: Sneak Peak of Motor Meister's New Facility for 2010! - YouTube

According to a good source, MM's facility is locked down with investigators checking things out. If your car or engine is seen in the above links, I would make an attempt to claim them now. Call the Downey Police and report your car/engine stolen so there is a paper trail to get what's yours when the investigators sort this out.

Check out the photos below taken from the above links. I wonder if there's anything we can do to help reunite these cars and engines to their proper owners...document VIN and engine numbers and post them here?

Any news on why? They made it this long against all odds. Just wonder if they decided to retire or if the pressure from the complaints on the internet finally had an effect.

I think all the lien sale applications they've been filing for lately finally raised the suspicions of the authorities. Selling customer's cars is an easily identifiable fraud unlike engine rebuilds.

It would only make me more sick if these were human or animal traffickers. I just hate parasites who prey on things I love for the almighty Coin.

There are a number of us victims that have been actively raising awareness to a broad scope of agencies.

When does the "web" site get shut down??? Shut down the Motor Meister website NOW!!

Samba & Rennlist

G60SuperCharger did you spread the word to the other sites like Samba & Rennlist? Just asking? Many will appreciate this info.

I did Rennlist and here in the classic 911, boxster, and 996 forums since that's what the majority of these "stolen" cars are. Will do Early S and Samba.

If you know someone who still has a car or engine there, spread the word.

I was born and raised in Downey and am good friends with one of the ex mayors of Downey. I am sure it wouldn't be too hard for me to contact the Downey Patriot (our newspaper) and maybe have them write an interesting story on Motor Meister.

Good idea?

Think, Great idea. The more the word is spread, the better so these bastards aren't able to rear their ugly heads ever again.

Well that sucks! Now who's gonna offer full 911 motor rebuilds for $2500.00?

According to a Downey police detective, the BAR is aggressively investigating Motor Meister and their owners.

If culpability can be established, it might be hard for any of the principles at MM to get a Cal. BAR license.

How to stop the ebay auctions? One of them ends in 2 hours.

If I lived nearby, I'd take the bids, and go see them with the police....

You call the police. They call Ebay and the auction is pulled. The Downey Police would have to be the ones to do this as they are the local jurisdiction.

Take a look at the bid activity on these:

Porsche Boxster Roadster s Convertible 2 Door | eBay

eBay.com Item Bid History

Porsche 911 2 Door Coupe | eBay

eBay.com Item Bid History

Looks like the same bidder on both with a (2) Feedback/Rating. Curious if they are bidding on it themselves to try and push the sale amount higher???

Don't know but just saying...

Holy crap! I had no idea they were such a big operation. That's a lot of engines sitting on the steel. And lots of cars. Wow...

So when did Toto run behind the curtain and expose them? because I've been seeing complaints about them for years on here and Rennlist.

Henry Schmidt posted this in the other MM thread. Seems like the PD isn't going to be shutting them down after all. Still a busy signal when you try to call MotorMeister...same thing yesterday.

UPDATE: as of 11:00 today, Detective Roberts of the Downey PD says he has contacted MM and personally inspected (maybe the wrong word) the facility and his (Det Roberts) response is that MM personnel were courteous and friendly. He said the facility looked well organized and that the person he spoke to suggested that anyone who had the correct paperwork (whatever that is) could retrieve their property without delay. Det. Roberts then suggested that a simple appearance might resolve the issue of property retrieval. Monies paid and or lack of completed service will be a civil matter to be dealt with separately.

If Motor Meister is really filing for bankruptcy those Ebay auctions could turn into a nightmare for anyone who buys one. If the bankruptcy trustee finds that assets were disposed of prior to the bankruptcy they can have them recovered and the person that bought them would become a creditor of the bankruptcy. (They send out a US Marshal to retrieve it!)

Plus if the debtor did something fraudulent like lien sales with the notice going to a purposefully incorrect address the trustee will very often facilitate the felony prosecution of the debtor. Most trustees are attorneys and they have a very dim view of people abusing the "wipe the slate clean" that a bankruptcy represents.

I called them today, they answered the phone as normal. Would someone please shutdown the "web" site. Save innocent "bugs" from their tangled "web".

Does anyone have solid proof of the alleged filing? closing? Anyone?
