Yeah, I know those folks well. They are a 90 minute drive away and that means half a day. So I always time it for a great BBQ lunch in Lexington on the way home.

And like you I usually get a few cases but it is time for more. I have been driving a lot for business lately and just wasn't excited about another road trip.

All said, I have only run BP in my SC and ill probably continue to do so.

AA has an online deal. Free shipping over $75. 15% discount over $50 plus $25 gift coupon on orders over $50. If you order 19 quarts, this works out to less than 1.90/quart.

Targalid..it always pays to read the fine print..this from AA website:
"Excludes select items and categories: air chucks, couplers and blow guns, air compressors, air hammers, commercial tools and equipment, electrical tools and testers, engine hoists/stands, floor jacks, generators, Hot Items, hydraulic fluid and motor oil.
Offers exclude motor oil, gift cards, Hot Items and special offers including, but not limited to, Buy One–Get One, 2-For-1, and Oil Change Specials."

Oops. I screwed up. Auto-Zone used to do mail order on oil and it was a great deal with free shipping and gift coupon. I guess this isn't so great. Thanks for the correction.

Really appreciate the heads up....just called and had them pull a case for me in Tampa (Lutz) Florida.

She said that it's all they have left and that it is indeed on sale $3.99.

Forum at its best...Thanks, Scott

I just went to the Valvoline site and looked at the oil. This is RACING oil. I looked for frequency or mileage between changes and could not find a recommendation.

That said, the Joe Gibbs RACING oil sold by Jake Raby has a use life of 500 miles.

Anyone seen something to the contrary on the Valvoline product?

Just purchased two cases from AA in Cleveland, Ohio for $3.95 per quart, however the store manager drove to two locations to obtain enough quarts to make the two cases. He only had one quart on hand. Really nice guy for doing that as he is a P-car fan as well. He indicated that he has not seen that price for that oil before as it actually sells for $6.91 when not on sale. Will be changing the oil in the spring as snow storm will be here tomorrow. Oh, boy!!!

Good point id think that it doesnt have the detergents or whatever makes it last forever like these oils that go 15k miles. Id like to hear more on this from those in the know

Make sure you're looking at the right product. Valvoline has three "Racing" oils:
Valvoline Racing (VR1 - what we want, dino oil with plenty of ZDDP and detergent)
Valvoline Racing Synthetic (VR1 Synthetic)
Valvoline Specialty Racing - This is the "not street legal" oil that has lower detergent levels.

Is this a market specific promotion? I just looked on the site and it appears it's $5.99 here in Dallas, or at least anything close to my zip. Is is possible the sale price is only posted in the store?

the price isn't even posted in the store. i had to grab a quart and bring it up to be scanned/price checked, at which point the counter guy looked really confused.
