Well the activity on the SC got underway last night @ Chez Al S. On the agenda:
-valve adjustment -valve cover gaskets -oil/filter change (Chevron DELO 15/40) -transmission oil change -brake flush (and a massage for a slightly sticky caliper) -new brake pads all around -plugs/cap/rotor -fuel filter -new shocks front and rear (Bilstein HDs) -new Dunlop DZ101 tires (205/55 and 225/50) -new Euromeister FauxFuchs (16x7&8") -new Euro rear lenses (and seals.....should have ordered them at same time!) -bump steer kit -lower a bit more and alignment I've put a couple hundred miles on the car so far. What a different car than my 993s. Just need a longhood (72S coupe), a 3.2 (89 coupe), and a 964 (C2 coupe) to have a nice set of aircooled cars. Oh.......also need to find a bank or two to "visit" to fund the fleet. Or work til I'm 134 years old.

I'm still amazed at that color. Definitely unique. And it should handle like a rocket on rails when you're done.

Definitely not Rosewood. Rosewood is brown.

... that has a pinkish cast in certain lighting.
Maybe he has a paint tag that would shed some light on the color. I just didn't think it was a color that Porsche first used after this car was built. Ifit was repainted a different color when I got painted, you'd figure that he'd notice. Very few cars get a complete color change done right. JR |

Further investigation is definitely required. Either way, all good. Car is a nice solid driver. As it pretty much fell in my lap, I figure it was a sign. And btw, I'll have the BBS wheels for sale in a couple weeks. I've come to like them more than when I first bought the car but the gold DOES NOT work with this colour IMO. Pretty light too when we pulled them off last night.

No paint code tag on the driver's doorjamb?
Any evidence that the engine compartment and trunk paint don't match the rest of the car? JR |

As far as trunk end engine compartment matching, yes they do. That's what's so intriguing.

My car is definitely not Rosewood. Here it is parked beside Charlie's Rosewood 82 SC Targa in my driveway.

Poor job of mixing the paint formula?
Special color? Zsa Zsa Gabor's favorite shoe color? JR |

Looks great Tim! Getting all that stuff done right away is a good plan, then drive that baby! It will look nice with the faux Fuchs. The BBS wheels are light and strong and definitely retro to the '80's, but you're right, gold doesn't really suit the paint colour.
Gonna have to see it soon. Paul |

Hmmm. The second set of pictures looked upside-down to me...
Lovely car, btw. And actually the BBSs look better than you'd expect.
