Shipping Recaros UPS FEDEX or freight only?
I'm trying to figure shipping costs for some seats I'm trying to buy. Can they be shipped UPS or FEDEX Ground or must they go freight?

I shipped two in one box from CA to FL for $175 on fedex ground. Not cheap, but arrived in a timely manor and all contents were safe. I have used Greyhound bus before, but . . . . . you never know. Jim

I also had them shipped via FedEx ground. Both in one really big box. Was around $200 if I remember correctly. Also had to pick them up at a FedEx location. They wouldn't deliver to a residential address.

Uhaul wardrobe box.......
Shipped two (2) car seats, hardwares, etc. weighing close to 100 lbs. via Greyhound from Philadelphia, PA to Salinas, CA for $110. Pack the box well and keep your fingers crossed because it is almost impossible to track the shipment until you get a call from the bus terminal. I think I'll try another shipper next time I do it.

What he said. Works great. I shrink wrap them individually so they aren't rubbing against each other.

shipping seats........
I sold some SC seats a while back and had to ship them. I took the seat backs off the bottoms so they would pack into a smaller box. I put one to a box because of the weight. I found that I could ship the boxes much cheaper via Greyhound than by Fed Ex or UPS. Takes a bit longer, but the buyer was not in any particular hurry. Hope this helps!

IF you wrap up the seats very well... Greyhound really is your best option... Tracking on line and effective service.. and this coming from a Global Logistics guy, who also worked LTL for years..
I shipped bumpers from East Coast to West Coast.... no issues!

I just shipped FedEx a RECARO SPG HANS in the original RECARO box from Annapolis to South Carolina. Seat weighs just over 6lbs. $140. This seemed way to high. UPS was way cheaper last time I shipped something heavier and about the same size.

forward air is the most economical shipping for over size or weight items terminal to terminal. put them on a pallet take them to the nearest forward air terminal.

Greyhound maybe cheap but if there's any discrepancies, you're out of luck.
UPS/FedEx atleast you can insure and track it. Go Greyhound...and keep your fingers crossed ![]() |
