Bilstein or Boge us.
My son and I recently bought a used suspension upgrade for his 83 sc. We planned to install during the upcoming winter. It would have taken us some time to install the struts and shocks. Instead of waiting for the winter my son paid our Mach. To do the work. He had it done in a day. But the car was impossible to drive. He removed the struts and found that both were bent. Said they were offset for a lower front end and were pretty much useless for the SC. Also that they weren't Bilstein struts but Boge struts with Bilstein inserts.
So I contact the guy I bought them from ask for a refund. He tells me I'm wrong there great and if I can't use them I should be able to resell them. So this is my question can I resell these. Is anybody interested in these and are they worth anything? Any info is helpfull. Below are some pictures. Thanks Tom ![]() ![]() ![]() This picture shows the amount of bend on the arms. The next picture is of new struts. ![]() Also are the front arms and the rear spring plates worth anything? We were not planing on using them either way.

You do have Boge strut with bilstein insert in front.
Rear are bilstein. Never seeing a Boge strut that was modified for lower RSR suspension height. It can happen I guess. My RSR struts have the complete spindle moved. In your picture all I can see is a bend on the tie rod part. It should work I guess. Assuming good faith and that all parts are in good working condition all you need is a better mechanic that can properly tune and set the suspension. There is no reason why the components wouldn't work on an SC assuming good working parts.

One more question.
If your SC was set at US height before the install then, it would be really hard to properly install those inserts. You have to lower it to make it work. Hence the proper suspension tune/set you need.

Yes the SC is at US height. Did not know rsr was a lower height. Was never planning on lowering the car was just looking for better struts. Now wondering if these have a resale value?

I would consider lowering the car as there is quite the gap btwn. the fender and top of the tire. As well it does help in the handling dept. A good Porsche Tech. can do it and alignment will do wonders. My '77 has Bilsteins all round with the turbo tie rod kit and what a nice improvement.

We have already replaced the inserts in the original struts and have the car up and running. I just want to know if these struts are useable to someone else and if so what would be a reasonable price to sell them at. If you look at the picture of the struts on the cardboard with the black line. You can see how much of an offset is on the struts.
