How are Porsche owners supposed to decide whether it's worth it to undergo a major restoration on their old 911 if they can't find out whether it's a matching numbers car? Does Porsche want everyone to tow their unrestored project to a Porsche Classic Center for a pricey evaluation? Oh well. - Matt
Has something changed recently? They will no longer confirm your numbers if you supply them?

This is your only option when it comes to getting info from Porsche now. This is the latest email I got from PCNA.

"Thank you for your Porsche Production Specification (PPS) inquiry. We are emailing you to make you aware that the PPS (COA) has been updated. We will no longer list the engine and transmission number on a PPS, rather we will list the engine displacement. We also now offer the Classic Technical Certificate (CTC) which is a comprehensive certificate providing important production information and technical specifications of your Porsche. For information regarding the CTC, please visit the below website.

Yes, an authorized Porsche dealer or Certified Classic Partner is only able to provide the CTC."

I just purchased an 84 Targa. Any info on where I get some history? Coa Kardex or other?

Just to be clear, the Kardex is available from about 1950 through 1969 Model year, and rare for 1970 model year. Thereafter only a CoA type of Report is available. For the 17 digit VIN's there may be other solutions as well.

I was able to virtually look over the shoulder of a Porsche dealer service rep, and get screen shots of the database info on my 1986 930. This was before they stopped the COA. I feel pretty lucky to have the data confirming my car is all matching. It's not as cool as a hand written Kardex, but it is the computer equivalent of that.

Probably this has been answered before, but if you have access to an authorized dealer can they still look up your VIN and get the build info? or has that changed since they stopped the COA?

best regards

Hello djpateman

As a newbie on this forum, I don't have PM privileges yet. Looking to get hold of a Kardex for a 1969 911 I bought in California 30 years ago. I'd be grateful in you could PM me or email bravado@zoo.co.uk. Thanks

Need a Kardex for VIN 219882

Hello!

I recently purchased this 1964 356C Coupe from The Throttlestop. Previous owners were Michael Origer, Philip Kubik, and Vic Skirmants. I would like to find a copy of the Kardex for this vehicle. Thanks to anyone that can find it!
