Do Porsche dealerships carry belts?

For our classic 911 cars - do they carry them in stock? Or is it an item they have to order? Trying to find one locally.

sometimes -- their parts department should be able to quickly tell you.

One of our local dealers has stopped carrying EVERYTHING for classic 911s (even oil filters!), while the other still has a fair selection of parts available from the counter.

For a premium.....best to know your size and brand you prefer, go aftermarket......they don't call them "stealerships" without a reason.

Is there something wrong with the ones available from our host?

Makes no difference to me, just curious.

I want one asap but don't want to pay the shipping premium for a little belt. Definitely will be giving the dealerships a call tomorrow - was too late today so thought I'd see if you guys had any luck with them (plus for future reference). Been trying to find aftermarket belts locally but no luck - Autozone had a Duralast but it was the wrong size despite saying it was equal to the Contitech one - grrrr.

Any item with a Porsche part number that Wayne can sell you, a dealership can also sell you.....with an additional 30% mark up.

Most dealerships are going to carry parts they sell on a regular basis. As there are few, if any, tech working in dealerships who have any training or experience on air cooled models, there will be little call for parts for those cars. Remember, an '84 is, GASP!, 30 years old. I'm guessing there are few techs that old working at dealerships.

I always keep a spare, just in case. (If nothing else, it buys me some time to order one from Pelican when required.)

I'd try NAPA if you have to go local.

Why not just walk in to ANY auto parts store and pick one up? The belts our cars use are readily available.
