New plug wires.
Mine currently have the shielded/grounded cables. They are getting long in the teeth and arc in the rain. Can I get non-grounded cables or do I need to get the same kind again? They work fine but just make the engine bay look really busy.
Thanks!

I had grounded on my 944 then went to ungrounded with out any issues. I would not see a problem doing the same thing on my 911. For what its worth I prefer the ungrounded as they are easy to remove if you need to and easier to pull out of the way without having to do anything.
To my knowledge the grounding keeps the shield portion of the cable at a 0 reference with all the other electronics in the car. This prevents a situation where the shielding in the wire builds up a charge and could cause a weaker spark as a result of inductance and other electromechanics I am not recalling off hand right now haha. I use ungrounded wires on my 78SC and have for my whole ownership of it with out any issues, so I say go for it. Regards Dave

Shielded wires are supposed to help reduce airbox explosions, I dont know if they do, I replaced the shielded wires on my 74 with non shielded.
