Exhaust tuning help

I could use some advice from those with more experience.

I'm looking at some 2 in/out mufflers for my Euro 3.0 that is fresh/stock ('83 930-10) and presently has SSI's dansk 2/1.

I do not want a conventional 2/2 but something like the RSR or GT3.
Not interested in the M&K as I've talked to some owners and it raised their torque sweet spot and was louder than most would like.

Presently my torque is very good mid range and I don't want to move it north of 4k.

The stock Dansk RSR is a 50mm in and out and am wondering if that would starve my 3.0 at higher rpm?

Patrick Motor Sp sells one modified Dansk RSR (2/2) with a 50mm in and 57 (2.25) mm out. I was thinking this might give me a decent balance between mid/high range.
Any thoughts on that.

They also sell a Dansk GT3 style with 50mm in and 63.5 (2.5 in) out...I'm thinking that might move my mid range north too much???

Appreciate any insight as it's not simply about 'sound' ... I want to try something (because I can't help myself) and still keep my torque band where it presently is.

To retain the lower midrange you will need a restrictive muffler. Adding baffles to the M&K will both restrict the flow which moves the torque curve down and reduces the sound level. Same basic principal will work on other freer flowing mufflers as well. We also use active baffles that do both, retain the torque curve and open up for a good top end.

No experience with the Dansk RSR but their GT3 did move the curve up slightly (maybe 300 rpm) when compared to an early OE stock two in one out.

The Dansk looked like it was put together by a first year vo-tech welding student when compared to the craftsmanship of the M&K.

Thanks, you guys make quality and light stuff....do you have any dyno results with that set up for a 3.0?

That's what I figured with the dual 2.5 in outs...prob nice at the top end.
What's the noise factor?
