Hazard flasher issues
Hello folks, I’m gradually going through some electrical issues with my 72 911t.
I just replaced the hazard flasher relay located behind the dash near the left hand dial. I replaced with a Wherle part, which from these forums should be the right one. Had a 914 part number. While I was in there I replaced a five peg, universal round relay. Not sure what it was for specifically, but I was in there.... I was trying to address generally weaker turn signal lights and a ghosting of the lights on the tach. I would signal left and the lights at the two corners would be on, blinking. Same with the right side. But the arrow lights in the tach would start each correctly then ghost so that both were on, rather faintly. The flashers seemed to work ok, all four blinking along with the two arrow light in the tach. After changing the relays, the turn signals work well; good strong bright lights and the ghosting has stopped—I get a nice bright light in the correct arrow in the tach. Much improved. But now the hazard flasher only lights the right side. The tach arrow lights right and the outside blinkers on the right work. Nothing on the left. If I turn on the left turn signal while the flasher is on then the left side lights work too, so all four are lighting as are the tach arrows. I was thinking maybe a loose wire for the left side lights in the flasher switch. Couldn’t see one however. Any advice or suggestions? Much appreciated
