1989 911 3.2 Silver Anniversary Edition
Sorry, had to repost because I received no response.
Other than just the visuals (e.g. grey interior with black piping, matching silver fuchs wheels), is there a way to verify a "silver anniversary edition"? Does this somehow show up in the VIN number? |

Basically it is a visual option. You get either black met. or silver paint with silk grey supple leather seats and black piping.
A rear wiper is standard. Front and rear spoilers, H.D wiper system, headlight washers. The carpet is thicker silk gray velour as is the carpet in the trunk. The wheels are body color centers at 6" front and 8" rear. The center console is leather with an outside temp gauge. The shifter is a shorter lever. The cars also came with 25th anniversary badge that was to be affixed to the glove box door. Thankfully mine was never mounted and is safe inside the door pocket. David

Pretty sure turbo tie rods and turbo valve covers came in the package.

Not quite sure of that but gave my dealer order books away long ago to verify. I sold them brand new back then and are one of my faves. Far more than the Speedster with all the hype marketing. Also in 89, the 964 intro had the spotlight for a short time and the Silber Anniversary didn't. The last of the generation and closest relation to the first 911. Hang tight, be patient and watch those cars soar in appreciation in 20 years, possibly more so than a turbo of that era.

Check the owner's manual package and the code for proper shade of silver beneath the trunk lid.

Bumping this thread to ask if anyone knows what size tires the factory used on the 8 x 16 Fuchs in the rear of the '89 Silver Anniversary models? 245/45 or 225/50?
I found the specs for the car in the following link, but the wheel and tire sizes are not listed: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/226348-porsche-1989-25th-anniversary.html

Thanks. I knew that 225s were used on models that had 7" rear wheels, but I was not sure if the same tire size was also used on the 8" wheel.
