Trunk Light Switch
I need to replace the switch and cannot determine how to get the brown wire attached to the terminal on the end of the plunger once the switch is screwed into the hinge. It almost appears that the lid will have to be removed from the hinges, or at least loosened to gain access.
Am I missing something here or is there a simple method that is eluding me?

While I've not replaced this switch, I believe it's the same switch as that of the door dome light switches. Assuming it is, it just crimps on to the back of the switch, with ground being provided between the switch threads and hinge threads. So you'd unscrew the old switch (holding the plunger so the wire doesn't twist in the hinge), remove the brown wire from the old switch, crimp it onto the new switch, and then screw the new switch into the hole while holding the plunger part so the wire doesn't twist inside of the hinge.
Sorry if I'm off base here...
