Chassis Bracket Replacement
While measuring up my chassis (in anticipation of a front suspension pan replacement), I noticed that one of the M10 threaded bosses (below the footwell area) has been moved 10mm outwards (looks like it was bent). This provides the threads for the M10 bolt that secures the strut for the aluminum crossmember. While this thread is not important for alignment (the strut still attaches OK), I would like to replace it. I've found that Restoration Design makes a replacement (901.501.063.23):
Restoration Design | Bearing bracket for front pedal area 2 per car Has anyone else replaced this part? I presume this is just spot-welded onto the chassis? http://www.restoration-design.com/mm...0001/P218C.jpg Thanks. |
If you look for RDs videos on youtube, their is one that I recall the guy built a jig for getting that part set properly before welding....
You might search for it and see what he says, sorry I don't remember the details. |
