Hello. My 1970 has the four 8-MM hex bolts. Upon inspection, they were covered in mud and locked up of course. I've sprayed penetrating oil and have knocked on them and am putting as much force into them as I can with a 1/2 inch socket. Should I use a breaker bar or try to get an impact wrench in there space is tough to come by of course. Any ideas would be great! Thanks

Hmmm I wouldn't beat too hard on the hardware with an impact (hammer style) because the flanges are directly connected to the differential. I would try to hold the axle with the brake pedal while using a breaker bar to loosen the bolt.
