Tail light Assembly -1985-911

My driver tail light assembly is giving me a problem in that the tail lights work but not the Brake lights. I squired some contact cleaner in the socket, but the reality is that copper spring connector is push too forward through year of use unable to make contact with the bulb.

The socket is obviously to small to bring it forward by use of hands. I removed the entire assembly from it's position with it's wire still attached. However on the back, I saw where two screws and the entire assembly where the access panel is ...seems like it's been silicone sealed from the factory.

Is there another way of getting this contact to have some spring without accessing the rear panel. Or is that the only way?
