My favorite is the 1976 Porsche 911 Turbo. Always my iconic Porsche.

OK, so some people have trouble counting back 50 years, but here is my 2 pennies worth:

1. No compromise performance car that was THE game-changer at the top end - McLaren F1

2. Best all-round (all things to all men) car BMW E39 ('98-'03) M5 - 300 kph straight out of the box (try that in your equiv 911 of the day) with 5 seats and a big boot (trunk?). And the sound . . .

3. Best all round sports car Porsche 911 - any year, and for me 993 is best looking.

Am I to take that as a compliment? No, NC is for North Carolina, not North Cornwall. Among other vehicles, I own one of the first 100 GT350's produced.

I'd have to say my 1972 DeTomaso Pantera. Incredible sexy styling that looks good from any angle, heart stopping performance, a wonderful suspension by Dallara, and a 9 cu.ft. trunk in back. This car not only looks and runs great and does everything well, but it can pack all my wife's luggage (or my golf clubs) for a weekend away!

My E30 BMW was a great car too! Perfect balance of performance, handling and brakes. This was my first BMW and it's clear why these cars have such a following. I just wish I could say the same for my E90 - probably the last BMW I'll ever own.

Absolutely a compliment. As I recall he own(s)(ed) a GT350 and loves Corvettes. Not my cup of tea but Hammond, May, and Clarkson rock.

Yes, he does have a soft spot for the vettes. JC loves the Ford GT, but hates the newer design. Believe Hammond owns a GT3 RS too. How I would love to see what they have in their garages!

Wink Carrera 3.0

I'm with Quicksilver,on the 917.Once they sorted it,it ate everything in sight.

I remember taking my two boys, who were quite young at the time,to Hamilton's
Showroom in Richmond,Melbourne,Australia, who were the Porsche Agent.

Alan Hamilton had a 917/30,that he raced very little and we were lucky enough to be there on a day when the car was started up.

The ground shook!!!!!!!!!!

I swear all our eyes were the size of fried eggs and it's something none of us will ever forget.

So great to sit and watch Le Mans 2015 and see the boys from Stuttgart,do it all
over again.
Keep it up.

Jeep CJ

It helped win the biggest war the world had ever seen and served the military for many years after.
It worked the farms after the war
It served with utlity companies, construction companies, fire battalions, logging companies, and many other industries
It became a recreation tool for fishers, campers, hunters and other out doorsman
It created its own form of recreation of 4 wheeling just for the fun of it
It was sold world wide and built under license in India and Brazil
It's design was so original that it was copied by Land Rover, Toyota, Nissan, Suzuki and to some extent Ford and International
It's one of, if not the most recognizable vehicles in the world
Enzo Ferrari himself called it "Americas only sports car"
Mork from Ork drove one!
