The footage says it all - a few little things rapdly compounding into a very nasty outcome. Its a good thing for all of us to keep in mind - on and off the track.

Need to hear that you have had a thorough ortho and neuro workup to be SURE you are OK. Don't skimp on this, OK?

Hope the car is repairable - its hard to see from the pics, but as others have said a front tubeframe might be a nice solution?? BBB will rise again, stronger [and lighter] than ever.

Really bummed to know that your season ended this wasy - it has been a good one on every respect, and made even better by the way you have shared it with the Board. Karma is on your side.

Sorry to hear about the crash.. glad to see you are doing well.

As someone that on his last track 'incident' wake up 3 days later at the hospital and was told that the remains of the car where more a piece of modern art than anything ressembling a car I can only agree with Chris..

For now take care of your body (and soul).. as someone else said the rest 'is just steel'.. nice steel but steel nevertherless..

Glad your in one piece and like everyone else here, am heartbroke about your car. I am certain that you will rebuild her better than ever!
Our cars were built to do exactly what you were doing with yours when the damage was done, and for that I salute you. A friend of mine who has crashed a few toys in his day keeps this famous Roosevelt quote in his racer. It cheers me up when I break something or perform poorly in a race. thought it appropriate:

You've read all the condolences. I offer mine also.

That's a bummer, but the car will be repairable. Be glad you're not stuck like Christopher Reeve, trapped for eternity in a wheelchair by doing what he loved.

The only thing that worries me is that the windscreen flew out...

Just saw your note. Sorry to hear about your shunt. As everyone has said, the important thing is no injuries to your body, or those of other persons in the general area.
Cars can always be fixed, and if you never break one, well then you just don't know enough about the limits of adhesion, do you???..

Sorry Jack, that's really bad news. I sure hope everything works out ok. I was hoping BB might make a showing next weekend for Big Bear Run II. Maybe next time, I guess. Hey, now is the time to put that 3.8 sticker to use.

OUCH!!!

Glad you're ok. Your description of the steering wheel damage reinforces the use of the HANS device - that is exactly the body movment it is designed to protect. Think about using one.

What can I say that everyone hasn't already said? My condolences to you and BB. I don't own a P-car, but I got to meet Jack and sit in BB at Thunderhill this summer and was summarily impressed with what a nice machine it was (is). May she ride again!

Jack, sorry to see this happen, and glad to hear your OK. What concerns me is that you hit your face on the steering wheel and your neck took quite a blow. Be sure to get a thorough check up at the Dr. Also, what type of harnesses are you running?

Even if BB is not repairable, you have taken her a long way from the cornfields in the mid west. She lived a full life very few are fortunate to live. (yes I know it's a car).

Now is the chance for the RSR flares!
