Many of you have been asking me what is happening and I finally have an update for you, and some info on where I am planning to go in the future.

I know it is well overdue, but I am finally getting back onto the 911 and I am going to keep on with it until it is done!

Exciting stuff, look forward to hearing the 2.8 roar. I felt genuine pain halfway around the world when that piston came out of it's cylinder.

Are you going to do anything with the transmission? ...or just crossing your fingers and hoping for the best?

I just completed my engine rebuild - drained the oil from the transmission, simply to put in new oil and out comes about 10 or so dog teeth. Now I'm halfway through a transmission rebuild. Yaay.

Glad I found it now though and not after getting the engine back in and expecting to drive it not long after!

At this stage just hope for the best. If it needs rebuilding it is not too difficult for me to pull it out again and sort it.

Nice! Good luck!
If you didn't already know there should be an inspection plate underneath where you should be able to check out a decent amount of the internals.

Great news!
keep it up!

I like how you detail your work in words and actually talk us through and let us take part in all the ups and downs.

Cheers from Germany!

I read that chasing the threads has to be done with a chase tap, not a regular tap. You're removing material when you chase with a regular tap. I know it's too late as you already chased all the head stud holes, but wanted to clarify for my own sanity if that is the case.

Piston clips suck! I have finally gotten all of the pistons and cylinders installed on my Porsche 911 2.8 twin plug build, but it was not fun.

Thanks Al. I have had a bunch of people point me to those, the only issue is that my pistons are custom with an 18mm pin, and I believe they only make those down to 19mm. Hopefully I never have to look at any of those clips ever again so I won't need it

Great video, but that was painful to watch (I am sure not as painful to do)! Looked so frustrating. Glad to see you working on the Porsche again and love the alfarrari! Man the body on that looked a lot better before stripping.

I watch your videos religiously.

The Alfarrari's body was hiding a lot, but it shouldn't be too much of a big deal, as I have almost every exterior panel being replaced. It should be a fun project.
