Restoring/updating 1984 Targa

I decided to put this Targa back to its original color (black). While I was at it I rebuilt the motor, tranny, replaced all of the interior, new front bumper, and new center caps. What do you think?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa... first day.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...e Teardown.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...er rebuild.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...d half way.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...aint bay 2.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa... rebuild 2.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/Car primered.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa... and clear.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...90 percent.JPG

I think that the motor looks terrible and I need to come and pick it up and relieve you of it!!!

Nice progress and when you are finished with it, can I put my car in line for the next one to have this done???!!!

Looks like you have a great place to work! Keep up the pics!

that looks to be a REALLY nice car. keep up the good work.

I also like the workspace. I don't have a whole lot where I can work, I'm really envious

Nice Job!! It looks great in black. What color interior? Looks like you added the flairs? Thanks for posting the pics

The flares were install (poorly) by the previous owner. I had to re-work all of the seams and reform a couple of flaws. I am hoping to finish the Fr/Rr bumpers, decklid, and spoiler this week. It has been a great project.

WOW! You have resurrected a beautiful car. Great job! I'm surprised how great the front bumper looks in black. Very nice.

Looks great, you have done a great job, Kevin

Beautiful. Love the updated bumpers! What now?

jtratza 12-21-2002 04:24 PM

Great job! Whose bumpers? They look like C2 and assume you had to buy a light set. Any problems in hanging them. I have a 1987 Targa and have been thinking about replacing the bumpers. In part only because I don't like the big black 5 mph guardes hanging off the rear bumper. Their only saving grace is they make great seats to sit on while working in the garage.
