Colorado or nearby shop for rebuild
Been awhile since I've posted here.
A few years ago I bought a 75 911 - It had had a rough life and needed lot's of love. I have always dreamt of restoring a car so I gave it a shot. I disassembled it - body work is done - complete color change to Mexico blue :-) But life has gotten away from me - for the last couple years I just haven't had time and I would like to get it back together. It is a non-numbers matching car - just looking to get it all put back together as a nice driver - not a concours restoration I'm in Grand Junction (western colorado) and looking for a shop nearby that could take on a project like this. Any recommendations for shops maybe in Denver or Salt Lake or other nearby areas? I could maybe do California but that is a haul and I'd like to work with someone close so I could bring the car in as needed in the future. Last edited by jpearson; 05-11-2016 at 04:55 AM.. |

I had my 1984 engine rebuilt last year by John Eisenbud in Denver. Quality work. There are shops with cleaner floors, but the knowledge and workmanship there is exceptional.

Yeah I know Al - was hoping to find a bigger operation that could turn a big job like that around faster

Any of the good places I know, like Eisenbud's or Storz, or Carquip will want your car for 3-6 months. I don't know any Pcar specialists on this side who deal in volume.

Shipping via ForwrdAir is cheap. Consider John Walker.

There's a lot to be said for sticking local, as it will give you the ability to drop by and check on status (or lack thereof) and otherwise keep the shop "on target."
I say this as a long-time, satisfied Eisenbud customer, who has previously resorted to face-to-face "encouragement" that they reprioritize on longer term projects like yours to get my daily driver carrera back on the road. |
