any of you got photos of your bikes inside Targas?
Like many people, I'm road-tripping this weekend in my Targa. As usual, I'm taking a bike with me. I am able to avoid the usual Porsche-or-bike problem (taking bikes usually requires me to drive my boring appliance car) because I bought a travel bike earlier this year, a Bike Friday New World Tourist that packs into a standard Samsonite suitcase, and that suitcase will fit in the backseat and maybe in the frunk.
however, I would really like to bring one of my normal bikes if I can. I had a great time riding the NWT in France last week (it was perfect for a trip like that) but I enjoy, say, this bike more: ![]() Tonight I am going to get the tape measure and see if the frame-without-fork is short enough to fit into the back seat. (Threadless headset makes it easy to remove the fork and handlebars) If so, great. However, I remember seeing at least one photo of someone carrying their bike inside the car using the passenger seat and half of the back seat. Anyone reading this done that, and have any yay/nay words on it?

No pictures, but I've done it several times. I don't put it on the seat shelf, I put it behind the front seats.
I got one of those quilted moving blankets and draped it from the rear seat down across the shift tunnel, take off both wheels and aim the pedal to fit into the seat cavity. Just make sure the chain wheel has enough padding below it so it doesn't wreck your carpet and wrap the rest of the blanket around it so you don't get your arm dirty when shifting. I'm almost 6' and the bike fits fine. Wheel go on the back seat "shelf"

Easily fits if you take off the front wheel. I usually put that in the trunk. Leave your rear seats in the up position. I use old towels to keep grease or scuff marks off the upholstery.

Do you put it in facing forwards or backwards? How do you hold it down?

I used to ride with a guy that put his hardtail mountain bike in the rear seat. I think he removed both wheels, or maybe just the front. This was a large or 19" bike. Tight but it worked.

I think I may have one, my bike was a small frame., 54 TREK OCLV. tells ya how old it was.
also have a pic of my drum set in there, just not with me. they have a little more room than a coupe because of the shape of the rear glass, which is why I hated the looks of it. my tall brother actually could sit in the back.

Piece of cake! This one doesn't have any racks on it so it's not very bulky. Took the fenders off before the trip since no rain was expected. All I had to do was remove the wheels and lay it in the back seat.
