What color is this?

I've seen this color twice today, and I kind of like it.
What is it called and was it a factory color?
Thanks!

I think they painted 968CS in that colour and called it "Riviera Blue".

It is definitely "riviera blue", a color reintroduced with the 993, and very close to the Mexico blue of the 70's.
The maritime blue is a very deep soft blue which was also used on the Audi RS2.

It's often difficult to identify specific factory colours from pictures posted on the BBS - particularly oranges, yellows, greens, etc as they can appear quite different depending on camera, lighting conditions, photo-manipulation software used, etc but I would agree with George that the car you enquired about is Riviera Blue.

Here's another example:

Thanks for all the input.
I also found this TRE customer car that seems to be the same color. So everyone agrees on Mexico Blue/Riviera Blue?

No. this is 1974 Mexico Blue, at least that's what it says on the can!

It actually surprised me when I saw it on the panel, much brighter and closer to Riviera Blue than I thought it would be.

MJ, that car at the top is for sale, isn't it? Right here in Melbourne.

It's pretty good value if a near-dedicated track car is what's wanted, but it'd be almost impossible to insure... From memory, it's a 3.5 twinplug etc etc etc...
