There is a shop in Greensboro, N.C.

I believe the shop Bruce is referring to is Nichols/NSI. According to their website they're VDO factory authorized.
I was also going to recommend Nisonger's on Long Island, but it appears nowadays they specialize in British-branded instruments, i.e., Smiths.
On the West Coast, there's also Palo Alto Speedometer. Best of luck, John

My odometer just stopped working, so was going to send it to Palo Alto until I spotted this thread and saw the reference to Nichols here on the East Coast. How much postal insurance should I get? Thanks.

Check w Powls Spedo in Lancaster Pa.
They had an analog guru that rebuilt both Triumph and BMW tach/odo's for me with excellent old world perfection and results

Thanks for the reference, will call them. I checked w/ Nichols yesterday; same price as Palo Alto but only a one year warranty compared to two...
