Yearly Preventative Maintenance
 

I've had my stock '74 2.7 for a few years and have been lucky enough not to have any issues. Here's my question, what yearly maintenance should be preformed aside from oil change. Presently I only drive it about 1500 miles per year.

It depends on miles and how hard you drive your car. I put about 10K (or more) on my car every year and generally speaking I like to swap,

- Air filter
- Oil filter (every other oil change)
- Spark plugs
- Distro cap and rotor
- Fan Belt (dont forget the shims!)

If its been a while and i want to turn some wrenches
- Fuel Filter
- Break pads
- Check the CV Joints
- Check the rotors
- Check all rubber bits
- Headlights when they die
- Other odds and ends bulbs when they die
- Tires if I need them

Anyways, for my input, for something that sits mostly I probably would still do a yearly detail with a paint sealant for added/extra protection. Do you have a car cover for it? Assuming it's stored in the garage? Be sure to inspect your tires closely as I'm sure the tires on your P car might hit an age limit before wearing down. Listed below some items that I utilize. I'm sure more Pelicans will chime in as well.

If you're asking me, sure. I'm actually compiling a list of items for itemsI want to address this winter. My Christmas present, a lift in the garage, may be in before the 25th.:) This is what I have on my to do list. Change brake fluid, change trans fluid, shift bushings, maybe a wevo, tidy up some rust in front of battery, remove ac components, and maybe move battery to smugglers box.
