The CSV looks right but could the AAV and air meter be crossed?

With the Air Flow sensor and AAV plugs disconnected I still have a ground connection at #85.

Walt,

Test the FP relay socket terminals:

87a
87
86
85
30

If terminal #85 exhibits ground with the plug to the AFS disconnected, there is a second brown/red wire @ terminal #85 that goes to J35 (rev limiter). Disconnect this brown/red at J35 and check if the ground signal goes off. The rev limiter is located behind the left most gauge on the dash (LHD). Keep us posted.

Frequency valve uses a black and red wire. Just saying. Same size connector? Plus you blow the Lambda fuse on start......

Looks entirely possible except for the "Green means go" as Timmy2 mentions.

Just found this you posted.

What color on the freq valve? The above pic is my 81 engine.

It appears I have the frequency valve and air flow sensor switched. Also, the electrical diagram you attached shows the frequency valve and the OXS in the same circuit, maybe why I keep blowing that fuse. I'll work on it tomorrow. I just located that elec. diagrams on the Pelican website, I like them way better than Bentley's. Thanks.

Walt,

You have connected the black FV plug with black/red and black/red to the AFS which has two (2) brown wires. The brown wire on the passenger side is a permanent ground going to the alternator @ D-. So with the black plug connected @ AFS, you will blow fuse #18 outright.

We have ignition! Thanks everyone, with my knowledge of electrics I would have been running in circles on this one.

With new injector sleeves and seals the idle has also smoothed out nicely.

We all start from some where.........

Walt,

With this new experience of yours, it would be imperative to lend a hand for the next guy seeking similar problem in the future. It is give and take process. And we all gain from each other's adventures. Time to enjoy driving the car. Good job.

So which wires/connectors were wrong?

In the pic I posted above the black connector is on the freq valve and green on air sensor. He had them reversed.

Other pics and posts were pre-Lambda CIS connectors. Had I been on the ball I would have noticed quicker that there was no mention of the frequency valve which is a "new player" in the group of connectors.

Good feeling, I bet. :)

Congratulations.
