Power assisted seats question........

Just bought an OEM tonneau from a PP member in pristine condition and could not have asked for more. It looks brand new and very clean exactly what the seller advertised. Bought it while I was in vacation in California and brought it home in my luggage. Got back 3 days ago and had the opportunity to test fit the tonneau on my '89 cabriolet today. It fits like a glove.

Here is my predicament and would really appreciate your help. I have power seats and I could not tilt the back of the seat enough forward or rearward direction to make way for the tonneau to reach the dashboard unobstructed (?). Unlike the manual seats, you could turn the 'knob' CW or CCW to recline or tilt the back seats.

I can't find a way to move the power(electric) seats' backs away from the tonneau. What am I missing? Need help. Thanks.

Tony

Are the seats located all the way to the rear of the car?

If you do not have 6 way power seats, there is a handle
under the seat.

Gerry,

I went back to the garage and played with the inner and outer seat levers.

Outer lever.........allows seat to slide forward and backward.
Inner lever.........(never touched this before), tilts the seat backward.

You learn new things everyday. And thank you very much. Now, I have to search and look for Tenax fasteners needed for the doors and for the dash. Do you know a good source for these fasteners? Thanks.

Sorry Tony,

Can't help you with the fastener issue.

Maybe someone else will chime in.

Try a new thread "Tenax Fasteners".

Or, any upholstery shop can install the fasteners.

Best,

Gerry
