Sorry to revive an old thread. It is frunk related. Is there a replacement / better cover than this? Mine is looking worse for wear. (I did see another photo that just left it uncovered. I suppose that's ok too...)

I just added a cargo net under the carpet in front of the separator for the blower assembly to hold the aftermarket air pump - so nothing floating around ...

I’m not sure what the original cover is made of or if there’s a factory part number, but it’s like a paper fiber/plastic composite. Always a good idea to protect those brake lines from any accidental damage. Some thin aluminum sheet metal like roof flashing is easy enough to cut to match pattern and put into place. Or you can buy a 12x12” sheet of Kydex about .30 in thick, use your old cover as a template, cut the shape with a decent sized snips or scissors. I’ve made a cover to patch a hole in my bulkhead when removing the AC. Good thing about Kydex is it can be formed and shaped to contours with heat (hair dryer, hot towel, soak the Kydex in hot water, etc) and it stays put with no curling up at the edges, just re-heat until shape is at desired position. Prime and paint to match if necessary. |
