Options for a shop that can widen a set of fuchs?

Can I get some suggestions for widening a set of 16" fuchs? I would like to have some welded up and widened.

Seems like Weidman may be behind for a while. Any other options?

+2 for Weldcraft. Note that they can and will only widen on the inside of the wheel.

They did a pair of Euromeisters for me - front 7" to 8".

One more thumbs up for Weldcraft. They created a pair of widebody wheels for me a while back.

When you widen a 7" wheel by an inch how does it fit on the front of a 911? What tire are you running?

I tried the 944 Fuch 8's on the front of my 911 SC and did not like the fit. Fenders rolled and still not enough clearance.

I have these on a 3.2 Carrera with 225/45r16. You might need a bit more negative camber. I'm running -1.4 right now with my left front rolled and it works fine fairly low.

That looks great!

I am running -1.9 deg camber so should be fine. My car is a little lower than the blue car, but still looks like it would be ok.

Glad I saw this thread!

Thank you! No idea the inner clearance measurement, but I know there is room to spare. Bill Verburg actually recommends a custom offset of et27 (the 951 8's are et23.3)

I think what makes this work well is the shorter 225/45 tire. I corded my front tires while having fun in Colorado, and had to temporarily run some 225/50 Conti DWS06 to get back to Arkansas. It drove GREAT on the highway, but definitely rubbed when cornering. I think I was at about -1.8 camber at the time.

I have a pair of 7x16 (951/944) and a set of 8x16 (944/951). The 7's are great fit over my 930 calipers and great fit in the rear but questionable in the front. The 8's wont work anywhere and I'm hoping it will be cheaper to narrow the 8's to 6 as opposed to buying another set of 7's. Still waiting on my quote from James.

I'm looking for a set of 951 8x16 if you are interested in selling.

The widening actually changes the offset to 1/2" greater - so the 23mm offset wheel becomes a 40mm offset wheel. I run a 12mm spacer with longer studs to bring the offset back to stock. I did have to roll the fenders pretty hard and there's some slight rubbing on the inside at full lock. To confuse matters I added offset balljoints, raised the spindles 40mm and run the car pretty low. This is all so I can run a 225 tire on the front to reduce understeer for autocross:

Thinking that may make the offset too deep I think. These will be on my 914/6 GT that has a bit wider flare than standard. Wanting to run 16x10 square.

Found the invoice. It was a few years back, $225.00 per wheel.

Price depends on size and width added/removed. Each job is quoted before being accepted. Just had a set of 20x8 widened which came to $370/wheel.
