Has anyone done inner door top cover restauration?

Being a cab, I suspect my top covers warped due to the sun and rain. I’d like to refinish them myself but not sure how to go about it. The lock hole grommet seems intergrated therefore tricky to remove without damaging. Any help would be appreciated.

Alex

Alex, pretty easy DIY job in either vinyl or leather. Vinyl stretches much easier. The grommet is probably ready to crack so get a new one. I got mine from out host.
Clean with alcohol or similar. Rough up with sandpaper. Fill in dip around the hole with that two-part plastic bumper filler available at all automotive parts stores. Sand smooth.
Adhesive and cleaner suggested;

The stretching and gluing is pretty easy, just take your time. Suggest you glue the straight section fist leaving about six to eight inches unglued at each end. Let dry, apply adhesive to mating surfaces at one end, let set, then stretch like hell at 15 degree angle and pressing down as you go, carefull not to leave any bubbles or wrinkles. Pull off immediately if not happy and start again. Usually no need to re-apply adhesive. Cut out triangles on back side as required, pull like hell and press down.
Trim. Wipe off excess adhesive with the cleaner and you are done!

Sample of mine in leather;

There are lots of Utube videos to guide you.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, I ordered the supplies and stripped the parts. If all goes well I might even attempt the dash next winter!
