Hello - we don't have a file with them all listed, but if you look at the link below and click on a certain procedure, it should give you an idea of the time it would take. Are there certain ones that you're looking for specifically?

I am assuming big car dealers and very large, well known service shops may have their own data bases of rates. Smaller independent places probably subscribe to an on-line service that provides rates and procedures. I believe these are cost is prohibitive for a stand alone DIY enthusiast. Several thousand US per year. Unvalidated assumptions. Simply based on a few conversations I have had with service providers.

Do Porsche dealers have fixed times for most repairs (e.g. changing a clutch) or do they bill based on actual time spent on the car?

You know the routine. Takes 45 minutes for the first wheel brake change then 18 for the next. Do a handful a week, you get fast and you deliver coin to your employer. What I don't know is if all pro wrenches are paid on what they produce from the flat rate. You know the shop bills on what is produced and that is fair. +1 on what Ivan says. He is closer to the action.

hi Bob..i`m now very far away from the action. But i know that dealer now charges big bucks for an hour.
In my days back in 2008 it was 125 an hour..imagine now???!!! i know it but i do not want to scare people;-) Anyway, the mechanic gets payed for actual fix hours job with % from it...and of course it depends on his ranking in the service.................. Ivan

So, a mechanic who is fast AND good can make a favorable living in most shops. I don't see $125 an hour in my smaller city. But I do see $115 at the big VW dealers. (not counting your number is from ten years ago). I suspect Lexus and Mercedes is over $125 in this area.

Hi Bob,yes mechanics at the dealer make pretty good living...;-)But there is not a lot old-timers who know how to work on the air cooled 911.It is now more about water buffalo type of 911 and diagnostic tools...
