1984 930 Heavy Smoke Intermittently on Start Up
Just picked up an 84' 911 and looking for some help. I know that its common to have some smoke on start up but this seems to be more than a few puffs of smoke.
Some background Engine was fully rebuilt 20 years ago/36k miles ago. Sat for the last year and very little mileage put on. k27 turbo was rebuilt less than 500 miles ago. When I got it, first day drove 50 miles, no smoke and no issues. Sat overnight and started next morning and smoked for 15 minutes at idle. Thought it could be valve seals since it sat for so long or some pooled up oil burning off. Drove to a shop and had everything looked over and 10w-60 oil change. Some minor leaks are shown from lower valve cover gasket. I've put about 300 miles on it since last time it smoked and haven't had an issue until yesterday. The Smoke Primarily turbo side. Oil was spitting out the first time this happened. Didn't get a chance to see what was going on with it yesterday. Smoked heavy for the first 3/4 minutes of driving then went away. Seemed to have burned off half a quart of oil. Drove 150 miles and no smoke at all. Smell of burned oil does come into the cabin when heat is on. Have driven the car maybe 20 times this month and have only had this issue twice. I will post a video of engine running later. Video attached from right when this first started happening. https://studio.youtube.com/video/_c-l-ZjU3iM/edit
